On Saturday the Port Colborne Optimist Club fielded two teams at the 30th annual Bocce Club Fundraiser in support of the Inclusive Bocce Ball program.
There were two groups, A and B.
Our two teams placed third in group A and second in group B. Congratulations to first place winners, McDougall Energy (Group A) and Leah’s Locks (Group B).
Congratulation too, to everyone that participated. We all had a great time! Lunch was supplied by Super Mario’s pizza, a nice way to end a fantastic day. We look forward to next year!
This fundraiser is an initiative of the Port Colborne Bocce Club that itself has been around for an amazing 40 years. Welcoming people with intellectual disabilities into their organization decades before the term ‘inclusion’ was in vogue, the Bocce Club has impacted hundreds of lives while challenging social barriers to universal acceptance. We wish them continued success in the years to come.
