Wednesday December 6th saw the annual Community Living sit down Christmas meal at the Roselawn Centre in Port colborne.
Organized each year by the Community Living team, the Optimist Club volunteers are happy to lend a few pairs of hands in the kitchen and at the tables to see this event continue to be a success. The Community Living organisation has empowered and supported people with intellectual disabilities to maintain independent lives within our community since 1962. Good work, that team.
Over 100 dinners served this year, with Mr and Mrs Claus making a return visit. Mayor Steele and Barbara Butters were on hand to say a few words to welcome everyone and thank the Optimist Club for helping to host the dinner again. Stomachs were filled, hearts were lifted, and for a short while all was well with the world. This is Optimism at work. Happy to help.
Photos from this event were kindly supplied by Stephanie Baswick, the Director of Museum & Culture for the City of Port Colborne.
