Breakfast Club Donations

The Port Colborne Optimist Club was pleased to be able to make donations to ten local school breakfast clubs. These invaluable programs ensure that students receive nourishment for growing brains and bodies that need it. This is up from five school donations made last year, a 100% increase, as we recognise the increased need within the community as the cost of living continues to grow. We stepped up, and doubled it.

The club is happy to contribute what we can, where we can. We are grateful for all the schools, their students, and the volunteers that give freely of their time and effort to run these breakfast clubs and ensure that youth within our city get nutritional starts to the day, which in turn help them focus on studies rather than empty bellies.

But none of this would be possible without the businesses that sponsored our events throughout the year, our vendors, those that that made purchases, bought penny sale, 50/50, or duck race tickets, or just donated spare cash at any of our fundraisers. You made this happen. Thank you.

Our donations this year were made to, in alphabetical order:

  • Dewitt Carter
  • McKay Public
  • Marshville Public
  • Oakwood
  • St. Elizabeth Catholic
  • St. John Bosco
  • St. Josephs
  • St. Patricks
  • St. Therese Catholic
  • Steele Street Public

Seen in the photographs below are Claire Beauregard, PCOC treasurer and Sandra Thompson, club member, and school students and staff receiving their donations.
