Fathers Day saw our biggest event yet as kids and adults came from far and near to join in the fun at the 2025 Kids Fishing Derby in Port Colborne.
With entrants lined up around the block to sign up we had our hands full from the start. Members handed out buckets and worms, took registration forms, and sold duck race tickets. Volunteers prowled the lake measuring fish and noting down sizes. Later, our production line went into action feeding the hungry crowd with around 600 free hot dogs complete with juice boxes and chips. Our VIP made a speech and our MC drew prizes donated by our many very generous sponsors. The day was warm, but not too hot. Wind kept off the bugs, and kept kites flying. There was just enough cloud to minimize risk of sunburn. Perfect weather.
