The PC Optimist Club is pleased to announce the launch of a new chapter – literally. The Port Colborne chapter of the Port Colborne Junior Optimist International (JOI).
JOI will be comprised of youth up to the age of 18 and will have a president, an executive, and a board. Guided by the parent body the new club has already elected a president and board and begun work on a number of community programs. The JOI will empower youth in our community to grow, to lead, and to help. This will give them a solid foundational platform for adulthood.
The PC Optimist club has been working for several months on this new initiative and we want to thank the club members that drove this to completion, the parents that supported it, and all the JOI club members that embraced this program so energetically. We look forward to enjoying their achievements into the future, certain that they will make a difference. Watch this space.
JOI becomes official at the launch, which takes place at the VALE health centre, at 6pm on September 29th in the Golden Puck room. The event is public and more information will be available at the event.
