This is the third year that the PC Optimists participated in the Port Cares Coats For Kids program which sees warm winter clothing delivered to the kids in our community that need them.
This year we had funds to buy 16 coats/snowsuits from Lapennaco’s at the Seaway Mall. The manager, Darlene, gave us discounts on all the items and also generously donated 3 gently-used snowsuits which we also gave to Port Cares Outreach Centre. They were grateful. The coats will go direct to youth from toddler through to teens. We hope to continue this much needed program in future years.
