Thank you for your patience while we confirmed and contacted the winners of the 2026 Ball Drop! Thank you too for participating and making this such a fun and exciting event.
With entries from as far afield as Alberta and the Yukon Territories at home in Canada, and England and Portugal in Europe, we are in our own way truly making Optimism international. Thank you to our partners for the event, Community Connect, a Port Colborne based registered charity organisation focused on creating barrier free access to programs in athletics, competition, and other community events.
Thank you also to Sherk Maintenance for the use of their crane, shown below dropping the balls, and for macguyvering the ball release system. Thanks to Whisky Run Golf Course for providing the venue and letting us drive a crane onto the green. Thanks to Optimist member and photographer Carl Green for laying underneath to take the shot of the balls in the air. Thanks to our members for coming out to help, and thanks to those that turned up just to watch. It really does take a village, and most of ours stepped up.
But of course most thanks to everyone that bought a ticket. All funds raised will go toward assisting community programs. Your generosity and money will help us to help others.
