A few days ago the Optimist Club once more celebrated Canada Day in the park at H.H. Knoll, Port Colborne.
We had food trucks and craft vendors. We had balloon twisting and face painting. Bouncy castles and kids games. We had live music throughout the day, including a military band. The National Anthem, speeches, and then cupcakes. Our foam party made a spectacular return and our penny sale was another huge success.
2025 attracted our biggest crowd ever. The weather was perfect. Not too warm or cold, a little breezy to keep the flies down, and enough cloud to ward off sunburn.
As usual, our resident event photographer Carl was on hand to take photos of all those happy smiling faces. Three days after this hugely successful event, the photos are all now edited and have been uploaded to a gallery for your viewing pleasure. We hope you enjoy. We certainly did!
And we hope to see you all again in 2026, when we will have another fantastic day in the park with friends and relatives. Thanks for coming out and sharing your day with us. Thanks too to every one of the team that stepped up to make this happen. We are always looking to recruit new members. if you would like to know more about the events we manage and get involved, it’s as easy as clicking here.
