Outgoing club President Kim Eros (right) has been a steady hand guiding us through her tenure in the role. We thank her greatly for her commitment and service both to the club and our community.
As one of her last official acts as President, Kim announced the award for the Port Colborne Optimist Of The Year. Few were surprised to hear the name of club treasurer Clarisse Beauregard.
Clarisse (left) has served for many years to make sure every cent of money raised is accounted for and spent well. Beyond this, her tireless energy and attention to detail keeps the rest of us on track. When she is not up to her elbows in duck races and car shows and fishing derbies, she is handing out sponsorships and discretionary cheques to local charities and community organizations. In between managing all this, she rolls up her sleeves and organizes our road cleanups, and makes sure at every turn that the rest of us are where we need to be when we need to be there. In her spare time, of which there surely cannot be much, she likes to exercise and ride her bike. For fun. I really do not know where she gets all that energy from.
She is a force of nature, a shining example of Optimism at its best. Clarisse is a truly worthy recipient of the 2024 award of Optimist Of The Year. Congratulations from everyone in the club!
