Tonight we celebrated excellence in community spirit as demonstrated admirably by two deserving individuals at our annual Youth Appreciation Awards.
One student from Port High and one from Lakeshore are chosen each year to receive this small acknowledgement and token of appreciation from the Optimist Club.
Without taking away from their achievements, we note that selecting two individuals from so many is not always an easy choice. Many students commit their time and efforts to their community, and we want to be sure to thank and acknowledge them as well. However, there can be only two recipients of this award each year, and these two stand out for going the extra mile. Each with a resume of achievements and community involvement already better than many four times their age, without further ado I give you (fanfare, please…)
Tyler Vickers and Sophia Seca! They and their families joined us for a small ceremony featuring burgers and hot dogs and salad, as well as fruit and most importantly the Graham Priest Youth Appreciation Award 2024 cupcake cake. Oh, they also received a small plaque and a check each. Please join us in extending our congratulations to Tyler and Sophia. You really earned this. Thank you.
