This week the Port Colborne Optimist Club presented a $1000 sponsorship cheque to the Wave Girls Hockey Association at the VALE health and Wellness Centre. Pictured left to right are Optimist Club treasurer Claire Beauregard, U11 Wave goalie Luna Menger, and Wave Director of Sponsorships and Media Relations, Jessica Grabell.
Our sponsorship contribution will help toward funding the Wave’s Inclusive Development Program, which includes dedicated goalie training to ensure that goalies like Luna receive much needed development and training opportunities.
Pink At The Rink
We’re excited to cheer on the Wave at their upcoming Pink at the Rink night in support of breast cancer research and awareness. Come out and support a great cause AND great hockey on Friday, October 24th at the Port Colborne Vale Health & Wellness Centre. Doors open: 6:00 PM. Puck drops: 7:00 PM. The main feature is the Port Colborne Junior Sailors vs. Hamilton Kilty B’s. The U9 Wave girls will take the ice during 1st intermission.
50% of event profits will support the Wave, and the other 50% will go toward breast cancer research. We encourage attendees and supporters to wear pink, pack the stands, and help lift up our local youth while supporting this important cause. Let’s show these young athletes what community spirit looks like!
Tickets at the door:
- Adults: $12
- Students/Seniors: $8
- Kids under 5: FREE
