2023 Christmas Bazaar

The Port Colborne Guild Hall was again our venue of choice for the annual Christmas Bazaar, which once more saw visitors coming from across the region to view the wares of our vendors. While there, many chose to enjoy the tasty tidbits from our Bake Sale, drop some tickets into the Penny Sale baskets, or take the weight off and have coffee and a bite to eat from the kitchen.

Visitors also had a chance to win one of four door prizes, for free, by just filling out a ticket and dropping it into a basket. That’s our little way of saying ‘thank you for choosing to visit’. This event competed with five others on the same day. We understand the effort it takes to get around them all, and want you to know that we appreciate that effort.

Vendors

We would also like to give a huge ‘thank you’ to our vendors. Our Christmas Bazaar would not be annual the success it is without all of them. In alphabetical order, this year the following vendors spent their day with us and with our visitors:

  • Any Occasion Gnome
  • C & B Crazy Creations
  • Claudette Letourneau
  • Cute Ends Crafting
  • DAIZEE Dealz
  • Scratch It by Terry
  • Shellee Jackson
  • Sweet Pea Creations
  • The Buttertart Shack
  • The Crafty Wench
  • The Deal Dragons

Dedication

This year’s event coincided with a birthday. Member Ray has been with us for 27 years. 27 years of early mornings and late nights. Setting up and tearing down events. Attending meetings. Planning. Strategizing. 27 years of tireless, selfless, quiet commitment to his community. Thank you, Ray, for everything you have done throughout the years for both us and for our community. And a very, very happy birthday.

Membership Drive

If you think you might have the kind of commitment that Ray does, or (more likely) just want to know a little more about the Optimist Club first before getting involved, we are holding a Membership Drive meeting on Wednesday November 22nd at the Lions Hall, 49 Chippawa Avenue, Port Colborne.

7pm, no commitment. Just turn up, listen, ask questions. You may just find a family, and do some good along the way.
