Garage Sale and Book Giveaway

The Port Colborne Optimist Club is holding the annual ‘let’s sell stuff’ garage sale fundraiser and children’s book giveaway on Saturday September 9th.

Garage Sale

Please join us at the Lions Hall, 49 Chippawa Road, Port Colborne between the hours of 8am and 1pm to get yourself a bargain on some high quality garage sale items donated from our generous club members. Our members are varied in age and lifestyle, so expect that to be reflected in the available item choices. Expect something for everyone! And because we all strive to outdo each other in our generosity, quality is most certainly assured. Only the best makes it to this annual event. Come on down. The price is right. All funds raised will go back into our community.

Books, Books, Books!

We also have a surplus of brand new, uncirculated books from our book drive earlier this year! This remainder will be given away to kids of all ages from toddler to teen, so once more there should be something for everyone! Reading can be a family activity, or simply something to broaden young minds and open new worlds of imagination. Bonus, books encourage readers to step away from the phone and TV.

This really is shaping up to be a great day. We hope to see you there!

But wait, there’s more

This club does a lot for our community and the people in it. We are always looking to do more. For example we successfully took on the Kids Fishing Derby this year.

The Optimist Club is always looking for new members to help bring successful events to the community, raise funds for good causes, and have fun while doing it. If you think you might have what it takes to be an Optimist Club member, please join us. Being an Optimist is a rewarding social and community involvement. Being an Optimist is a commitment. And a choice. But a worthwhile one.

Also, we will need your stuff for the garage sale next year.
